I grew up in an artistic home all surrounded by fabrics and other creative materials and made my first toys for selling through shops as a teenager.
In the early 80:s I attended a fashiondesign school and after graduating I worked some years as a designer in a big fashion company, Hennes & Mauritz.
In 1989 I started my own business, OKIDOKI Original, with the aim to design and produce high quality toys for children. I made mostly bears and rabbits but also farmhouse animals and dolls. At first I sew all by myself but as the request grew I founded a manufacturer and sold them all over Sweden. I also made a large range of postcards with my bears and friends acting as models and a movable teddybear-exhibition that was shown in museums.
Between 1999 and 2002 I slowed down business while my two children where born and after some serious thoughts I decided to go back to make more exclusive bears and friends again.On a trip to London I visited a Teddybear show then realized that there was a big world outside Sweden with collectors and other bearmaking people...
Today I live in Lund in the south of Sweden with my husband and two children. I hope to attend shows abroad whenever there is a chance to get away from my busy family-life which also include a very lively Golden Retriever...
New project! In 2009 the Swedish publisher Alfabeta had a competition making a book for children. Kajsa Lindström was the runner up and just received the price of honour. Her book about two bears making a kite presented in big photos with interiours will be printed and introduced on the market in the spring 2011!

TITA-Award 2006! Tyra, a little panda-bear in a light blue dress, won category E in the the prestigious Tokyo International Teddy awards 2006. Price ceremony was held in Tokyo March 11th,now the Tyra is home with her bearmaker after a thrilling week in Japan....
